SOCAR AQS planted 2000 trees in tree planting campaign dedicated to the 650th anniversary of great thinker and poet Imadaddin Nasimi.

SOCAR AQS has planted 2000 trees in the tree planting campaign conducted at the initiative of Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on planting 650 thousand trees a day in honour of Imadaddin Nasimi's 650th anniversary.

 

Trees have been planted in the area in front of Umid Production and Supply Base located on the 37th  km of Baku-Gazakh highway. 

 

A total of 12 species of trees - Eldar Pine, Goyush, Thuya, Cypress, Mulberry, Tezalpinia, Eucalyptus, Legustura, Aliander, Palm, Althaea, as well as figs, pomegranates and other fruit trees have been planted within the framework of campaign. 

 

Personnel of SOCAR AQS office and offshore facilities, as well as Turan drilling & Engineering LLC, a joint venture of SOCAR AQS and KCA Deutag, and student scholarship winners of SOCAR AQS participated in the campaign.

 

SOCAR AQS will hire gardeners among the population living nearby in order to preserve the area and take care of trees.

 

In accordance with the order signed by the President Ilham Aliyev early this year, 2019 has been declared as the year of Nasimi, prominent poet and great thinker in connection with the 650th anniversary of Nasimi.
